C. Rajagopalachari, popularly known as CR or Rajaji formed the first alliance in the post Independent India’s politics by aligning his Swatantra party with DMK under the leadership of Annadurai in the year 1967
Swatantra party was formed in the year 1957 primarily primarily to oppose the then Nehru’s Socialism – License – Permit – Quota Raj – advocating Free & Fair Market Regulated Economy.
Rajaji’s dream of free market economy was introduced in the year 1991 by the then Prime Minister of India Narasimha Rao.
